JOHN and JENNY / ROLLY and RUTH double wedding Cagayan de Oro City
This would be my 2nd time to cover a double wedding and I could say, when we say double wedding, we’re talking double the fun, the celebration and double the difficulty. Covering a double wedding means we, photographers, have to really squeeze in our pictorial sessions and have good shots for both couple.
If you have been following my photoblog, there are times that I do back-up photography coverage for Aye Navarro. Aye has been my mentor since I started doing wedding photography 2 years ago. Aye has been into the wedding photography industry around 15 years (Yup! 15 years worth of love stories…hehehe. And I could say, he is the most humble and underrated wedding photographer here in the Philippines and I am glad that we are now colleagues and co-founder/member of a wedding photo/video group here in Cagayan de Oro. Really learned alot from him. )
He was the one who introduced me to do wedding photography as I was still doing fashion photography and graphic designing before then.
Anyway, Aye asked me to assist him for this double wedding, and as I was not also booked that day, I said yes. I only do back up photography ( if I am not booked that day ) exclusively for him also.
We have different style of photography, he is into more on portraiture and poised shots while me, is focused more on photojournalism and candids. Well anyway, Louie Yee, 2nd photographer of Aye, was also there and our friend Atoy Martinez was in-charge for the video coverage.
They say this was “sukob” ( a Filipino superstition that is believed that if two siblings marry in the same year they are “sukob” which means that they will have a similar life. ) The brides are sisters by the way.
Anyhow, that superstition was a long time ago, the couples’ love for each other cannot be hindered by mere superstition for them to tie their knots.
Here are a few of my share of photos of these lovely couples.
