This is one of those shoot I had which didn’t go as what we have planned. But nonetheless, the shoot still went good despite some unforeseen circumstances. I was still happy doing this shoot because even though our idea didn’t go to our liking, it didn’t hampered us to still continue and enjoy the shoot.

This would be my last installment of the band shoot I had offered for local bands here in Cagayan de Oro City.  It is very difficult for a musician to break into the music business here in the Philippines especially when you’re in Mindanao. The usual situation for an artist here in Mindanao to have that break is for them to go to Manila and try its slimmest chance to be scouted. There are a lot of good artists here who aims to really spread their music. But because of a just a few venues for them to play their music and also no record label to sign them up, being a musician here is really a struggle. It is nice to know that recently, these bands are getting airplay already in local radio stations, and I personally hope that these bands get their limelight someday.

Doing these photoshoots with local bands was my way of sharing my talent to help my fellow artists here in Mindanao.  This shoots was for free and I do hope that this bands will also do the same in the future. I am very happy with the blessings God gave me recently and this was my way of paying it forward. Unfortunately, I can only accommodate three bands for now and hopefully I can squeeze more photoshoot with local artisans. Portraits of different artists who, even with the heavy struggle of getting attention of their works, still stayed here in Mindanao and continues to create beautiful art from Music to Visual arts.

And just currently, a few more artists are doing what I’m doing. Having band shoots of their own too. Cool!
