They say, love knows no boundaries- even time. Our couple, Boogie and Nova are the epitome of this statement. They’ve been dating for less than a year but they’ve decided to tie the knot nevertheless. When two people are madly in love, nothing can stop them from wanting to spend the rest of their lives together. In fact, the day we shot their engagement pictures was the day Boogie will officially meet Nova’s parents for “Pamalaye”.

Long engagement or short engagement- it really does not matter when you are in love. You can see how relaxed and happy the couple is when they’re together. You can tell how they are perfect for each other. Nova’s fun and outgoing ways compliment Boogie’s silent but happy nature. We foresee a life full of love and laughter for these two.

BOOGIE ERFE + NOVA ECHAVEZ

According to Wikipedia, Iloilo City is the capital city of the Iloilo province, the regional center of the Western Visayas, and of the Iloilo-Guimaras Metropolitan Area. But for Chantal and Jan, this highly urbanized city in the Western part of the Visayas region is where they will tie the knot and exchange their “I do’s”. And this is our first time to set land on this part of the Philippines.

The trip going there, however, was a bit stressful: our plane schedule was cancelled without us and the newlyweds-to-be knowing. Good thing that the ground staff Airphil express in Cagayan airport, having knew that we were wedding photographers who were going to cover a wedding by the next day, were very helpful and really went out of their way and arranged our flight schedules so that we would be able to get there on the same day. The catch was, we had to fly all the way to Manila to catch our connecting flight to Iloilo. We arrived in Iloilo after sunset. The city was really splendid even in night time and it has this really old-world feel. We knew right then and there we will be having a grand time during our short stay. Or so I thought.

Wedding day arrived. We were really excited and happy for we are to work with Mayad Studios (videography) once again. In case you don’t know yet, Mayad is one of the most highly demanded videography teams in our country today. It’s like the dream team of wedding coverage! As much as were all hyped up for the wedding, Mother Nature never failed to cast a rain on us (cue in “Here Comes the Rain Again: by Eurythmics). But you know us, no rainfall would ever trouble us. The wedding went on really smoothly and intimate: the ceremony was held at the very old-world and picturesque Jaro Cathedral and the reception followed at HOTEL DEL RIO.

Like us, Jan and Chantal were also short of time: they arrived in Iloilo from United states just a few weeks prior to the wedding and they have to go back to United States right after the wedding. But props to them, they managed to make everything happen with a twist of magic in just a short period of time. Props to you, guys!

And since it was our first time to go to Iloilo, we should have gone and take a walk around and get to know the city more and have a bowl of authentic La Paz Batchoy (it was a Friday). Unfortunately, the rain did not stop. Not even for a second. The drizzle did not stop until night time so we had no choice but to stay in our hotel and wait for our plane ride back home (via Cebu). Regardless, we still enjoyed the city and hopefully we would return there once again. Only sans the rain this time.
