1st Canon Kagay-an Festival Photo Competition
We were still in the middle of an engagement shoot in Carcar City, when Canon called me up and told me that I won 1st place in their first Kagay-an Festival photo contest. I was so happy! It was a nice feeling that I was able to be the first one to win 1st place in their first ever photo competition which they said will be an annual event already and will be a major part of the Kagay-an festival every year. It was an honor and to say that there were lots of professional photographers too who joined the contest. Anyhow, me, with storyteller Gary and Che went to Canon Limketkai to get the prize. The prize was a handy digital camera, now we can take pictures of ourselves without bringing out our DSLRs. hehehe. Sometimes, when we go out, we prefer not bringing our DSLRs, because we feel that we are still doing our work instead of having fun. hehehe. So I guess, this digital camera will now be our official “behind the scenes” camera. I only submitted 2 photographs during that competition. And it was nice that one of the two got to be the 1st place. Thank you Lord!
The camera I used was my Canon 500D ( it just turned 1 year old last April ) and the lens I used is my favorite lens of all, our 85mm 1.8.
The photo is unedited which was one of the criteria of the contest. No photo enhancing/editing.

the 2nd photo I submitted.
After all the thousands of pictures that were submitted that day, these are the photos that were handpicked by the judges. They were all nice! the 3rd runner up is from a friend of mine, Jennifer Aranaydo. Aye Navarro also got 3 photos posted there.
