karen and erwin | engagement shoot | Camiguin Island
Days before the shoot, I told the couple to bring anything that represents them. Something they are comfortable with and something that they usually do. And after more questions of their lives (sounds like an investigator, hehehhe), I learned that they love going outdoors. So I suggested having some shots along the beach and some place upland. So during the day of the photo shoot, I just told the driver to just drive along the route going to Butuan City and we are just going to look some place that’s nice. We stopped in a beach resort along the high way to have lunch and while waiting for the food, I surveyed the place and thought that the place was already nice to have the photo shoot.
…Then came the editing part. I wanted to do something very emotional, something very classic feeling. That feeling you see when you happened to find a picture that hasn’t been unearthed for many years and leaves you smiling. I wanted to make the viewer feel the warmth it exudes. The memories that it tries to tell.
and I would also credit my big brother BEN ASERIOS who assisted me during the shoot.

sheila and kei | wedding photography | Cagayan de Oro City
One thing about early morning weddings is that, well preparations are REALLY THAT EARLY, meaning we’re going to start shooting even before the sun rises. The wedding day was a Saturday, yet hours before that, we ( Team Oro ), we’re covering a Regine Velasquez concert at Limketkai Mall. The concert ended around 11:30PM. We were then rushing back to our homes to get our chargers, attires and other equipments needed for the next day wedding shoot. The couple that we were going to shoot was very kind enough to book us a room on the same hotel they we’re going to have their preparations. It was a plan also for us not to oversleep.
After preparing our equipments, attires, backing our files and charging our batteries, it was approximately around 3am when we already had a shut-eye. Then alarms rung! It was already 4am and we had to start shooting already.
One hour sleep only baby!
We we’re racing against time. After quick showers and checking of equipments, we were already ready to shoot around 5 am.
After emptying lots of energy drink bottles, we were up running around and shooting. With a very fun and lively couple to shoot and also having a team who is harmonious and fun to work with, stress was not evident. There are some technical glitches, but in the end, the team made it through. We were able to present our works. Well, after the wedding, you know what happened next. A 12 hour sleep was greatly needed.

Audrey | portraiture | Cagayan de Oro City
Portraiture | Portrait photography
The day couldn’t be so perfect for a photoshoot. It was sunny and I was in the mood to take pictures. Guess the happy mood was heightened more when I arrived at their house with her parent’s warm welcome. Smiles flocked the room and a constant stream of laughter and giggles echoed around it. We were well prepared for the shoot. I guess it was a one month preparation searching the net for inspirations. When we thought of a make-up artist to pick for the shoot, I automatically referred Dr. Grace (http://www.vanityclinic.com/ ). I have already worked with Doc Grace previously and I couldn’t be more amazed of her works. Doc Grace was accompanied by her very supportive husband and her mom, who by the way was the one who styled Audrey’s hair. My usual time frame for a photo shoot usually starts at 3PM onwards, but days before the shoot, we had a 3-day rainy weather and an option of postponing the shoot was imminent. So I had to schedule the shoot earlier that day just in case it will rain in the afternoon. But we were lucky and I thanked God when the time came and the weather was clear and warm.
People go to spas and health clubs to feel good. But I guess treating yourself for a photo shoot and really loving yourself is also therapeutic.
